We can all feel and see beautiful autumn around us. What does that mean for Katy’s yoga practice?

Changing seasons can bring change in our physical body, not to mention colds and flus! I’ve been working on upper body releases in the back, shoulders and neck, releasing tension and creating space in the heart and chest area. Hips can begin to tighten as we move less in autumn and winter so keeping them open and mobile has also been in my practice.

We’re getting lots of repeat guests at Revive which is so fantastic as we love to see people back for another Revive Day. What’s new for people coming back to your yoga sessions?

I think it’s really important to spend time on my own practice to keep my teaching fresh for all my clients. This summer I’ve been to various fantastic teachers including some in London, some in France and fellow yogis in Edinburgh. That keeps things fresh for me and means my flows will always vary for returning clients!

We’re focusing on natural immunity this autumn – any secrets for what keeps you healthy?

I start every day with a glass of water at room temperature. I eat within an hour of waking, normally oats with chia, berries and banana. I make sure my lunch includes some pickled veg and I try to eat dinner before 7pm. I drink a lot of water and coconut water and steer clear of caffeinated drinks. I also try to ensure I’m in bed before 10pm every night…. it sounds so dull reading it back but with a busy schedule and two kids my health is paramount!

Join Katy on our Revive Days at The Principal Edinburgh Charlotte Square this autumn. All the goodness of Revive yoga, nourishing food, nutrition chats – with the added benefit of zoning out in the luxury spa.  The perfect place to be this autumn. #arriverevivethrive
